Hi, today I was playing with the freeworld3d demo (http://www.freeworld3d.org), and was wondering if terrains can be imported into blitzbasic preserving texture layers.

Somewere I read it only supports .obj export as mesh, but I don't know if vertex alpha is included. Otherwise, only collapsing texture would work, right?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you cannot.
In my project I collapsed all Terrain layers.
But I am not 100% sure. You have to read manual carefully because it may be possible to extract terrain layer info from the freeworld3D saved file.

a little tip about buying freeworld: make sure you have an ethernet card!

Hi, thank you very much.

i will be looking for some other options (I liked a lot the interface of Freeworld), but maybe it's not the ideal terrain generator for Blitz.

Best regards!

Fuller: why an ethernet card is prerequisite?

Hotshot2005(Posted 2008) [#6]
I didnt know that Freeworld 3D can do road on terrain :)

Moraldi(Posted 2008) [#7]
Yes and can make perfect roads!.
And most important: You can load all needed data to use these roads in Blitz3D. I've never tried but there is a description on site to read how you can load them.

Check the system requirements, it requires an ethernet card for registration.

it it looks dead end street.
