Anyone use Character FX?

I've started using DeleD for modelling and am now looking for an animation tool. Character FX looks good, but also looks like it's not been updated in a long time, is it any good. I want it for simple character animation, maybe ten seperate movements per character. Also, are there any importers for it for either DeleD files or B3D as it doesn't show any on the features page. |

Yes it is still good. |

Blender does Animation, and it is free. |

The other alternative I can see is PaceMaker, can't decide between the two, I'll try the demo's and see what I think. |

I don't think CharacterFX is supported anymore, but Pacemaker is still being supported by the author. I may be wrong though, but look at the news section of there site, it hasn't been updated since 2003! http://www.insanesoftware.de/index.php?page=company/news.php |

There is also http://www.fragmosoft.com/ |

Fragmotion and Pacemaker are both great. |

I have CharacterFX and it works great for animating b3d files; I've used it extensively for lots of projects. Certainly the fact that it isn't actively supported doesn't mean it suddenly is no good any more. It still runs just fine, saves b3ds just fine, and I still favor the Keyframer window in CharacterFX over equivalent tools in other animation software. That all said, if I were buying something right now I'd probably go with Fragmotion. Although I do not regret at all buying CharacterFX, that was like 4 years ago so it's had plenty of time to be useful to me. If, say, the software stops working in the next update to Windows, with Fragmotion that would probably be fixed, but with CharacterFX you're just shit out of luck. |

Support Blitzers, choose Pacemaker, that offers some pro features you won't find in fragmotion or CharacterFX. Ricky, the Author is still working on the project and he responds to questions. |

Hi jfk, Could you give us some examples of features that only pacemaker could do? Thanks in advance :) |

http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php?tool=111 Well, at least I THOUGHT some of it is unique. |
