Putting .B3Ds Together?

Community Forums/Developer Stations/Putting .B3Ds Together?

I have searched and searched (maybe I don't know what to search for), and couldn't find a simple program that imports .B3Ds (such as places made in MAPLET and objects such as trees) and can export a single .B3D mesh that I can use with MiniB3D for BMAX

I really like MAPLET and Anim8or (converted with Milkshape) because I am a big fan of cheap or FREE. I would like to use Milkshape for this task, BUT MILKSHAPE CAN'T IMPORT .B3Ds!

What should I do?

I don't understand what you want. Put them all togeher how? Why? To what end?

I would go with 3D World Studio. It's a brilliant editor.

Ross C(Posted 2007) [#4]
Ultimate Unwrap can do this. Cheap too :D

Gabriel(Posted 2007) [#5]
I would go with 3D World Studio. It's a brilliant editor.

And according to its feature list ( http://www.leadwerks.com/index.php?page=3dworldstudio_features.htm&subbar=bar_3dworldstudio.htm ) it cannot import B3D.

Download Gamespace free edition which has B3D save support. I think it loads B3D's also. Load in to the scene all your models and then highlight all of them and export as x model to single mesh. Load back in and save as B3D. :)

@Gabriel: Yes you are right, I forgot that. Sorry.

I found something like what I want:
SlimShady
One problem... It is Super Glitchy.

Any Ideas?

Happy Sammy(Posted 2007) [#9]
DeleD Lite (free version) with free plug-in to import b3d.

Gabriel(Posted 2007) [#10]
I'm still not sure I completely understand what you want, because you've gone through a level editor, a 3d modeller and a lightmapper, so if I'm way off here, I apologize, but what about Droplet?

CASO(Posted 2007) [#11]
EXACTLY!!! THANK YOU GABRIEL!

I AM LOOKING FOR A GOOD DROPLET!

(One that simply outputs a .B3D when I'm done)

Well, there is a tool named "Droplet", maybe Gabriel was talking about that one.

Other than that I'd suggest to use the SaveB3D code from the code archives. Simply use the AddMesh command to add some meshes together, then save it using the function. Of course you'd need Blitz3D to do that.

(BTW thanks for the "SUPER GLITCHY" :) But one thing is true: SlimShady doesn't support lightmaps and things like alpha or mask textures etc.)

CASO(Posted 2007) [#13]
I've decided to go with DeleD Lite after figuring out it's interface.

danjo(Posted 2007) [#14]
i was gonna say DeleD..

Iamhere(Posted 2007) [#15]
With X-World you can put B3D's together, but the B3D-Format inside X-World can only hold 4 Textures als multiple Texture on one Surface. More Surfaces = more Textures, but only 4 instead the 8 on one Surface that Blitz3D normaly can hold.

For animation you can use fragmotion (Import & Export).
For static scenes & things you can use gile[s] (Import & Export).

Both cheap and worth it

jhocking(Posted 2007) [#17]
I was about to suggest gile[s] too
