| Not specific for sprites, but in my experience these two are both very good graphic editing programs that I've used extensively myself for creating sprites: - Paintshop Pro - Photoshop Elements (I find paintshop a little easier when it comes to pixel-work, but photoshop more powerful overall) (I must say, though, that that 'Gale' mentioned by Bain above appears pretty nice too) |

| Photoshop sucks for pixel work, promotion is a really nice program with onion skining for cell animation which is really handy. plus its made for sprite creation so it doesnt have lots of other stuff getting in the way. |
