I used 3D WS to create a b3d file
Mesh shows just fine, but it's not textured.
the textures for the mesh are of file type
(Microsoft Setup File) Not (.bmp)
the mesh type is (.b3d) but the textures are not (.bmp).

And yes the mesh was textured when i exported the
mesh..

If it's possible, try to use .bmp or .tga..

I have never heard of 3D WS, do they have a website for their program and how much do you reccommend it?

He must be talking about 3d World Studio.
>> Microsoft Setup File <<

make sure to use a texture format that is supported by Blitz:
bmp, tga, jpg, pcx, png

Microsoft setup files have the extension stf, and try as I might I can't think of any texture or image format which uses that extension, and certainly if there is one, Blitz doesn't support it.

Could it be an archive of some kind? Like a zip or rar or something but with that extension? Or perhaps it's some obscure format that a particular game engine uses, but it's no use for Blitz.

Stick to JPG and PNG wherever possible.

the textures your taking about are they the ones that came with the warehouse example with 3dws because if so theres no way of getting them to work with blitz3d. ive asked leadwerks and they say that the textures are in there own format for there new engine and are not to be used for anything else.

Pete

ps. windows thinks these files are microsoft setup files because they share the same extention.

So it pretty much only came with meshs then
y even put all the textures there if i can't use them..
Now i'm going to have to search for textures tooo
I Guess I'll go back to Cartography Shop 4 then..
because i can use the textures that with it..
..
Is there any other way???

theres still a few textures with 3d world studio its just the ones in the warehouse folder you cant use.

you can get free textures online but if you want something a bit better have a look at these

www.3dtotal.com (there texture cds are great and quite cheap)
www.marlinstudios.com (some of there textures used in halflife 2)

3d world studio copies all textures used to the export folder, it doesnt covert them.
