I don't see why this wouldn't be possible. Someone would just have to interface with the xsi sdk. I'd be highly interested in this.

Found a wee bit about this on the XSI Wiki but it's all Greek to me atm :)

I am also interested
I have read that, for some reason, the exported .x file is not 100 % standard
Did anyone actually try to import an .x file from XSI 5.0 into Biltz3d or other engines?

yup, it can be done. I did with other engines. i did and imported well into mview and other x viewers which wouldnt if the file was not standard.
a tip...is all about the x export .addon dialog settings...also, in using certain features in xsi...also, take care of typical x limits...naming of bones (no dots, etc) , triangulate, export no helpers, bake all what you can to just an standard bones, (an anim of rotations and translations of them) ,weights, keyframes, and spline interpolation, no more...

What I seem to not find a workaround is that thingie of no big fonts allowed (in general Windows) neither lower than 1280x1024 res...
