Box modelling vs. polygon modelling

Has anyone experienced box modelling and the kind of modelling shown here?--- http://www.psionic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorials/lowpoly/zmod.html I only have experience with box modelling and it can be a pain to keep having to adjust vertices until they look right - while running the risk of ruining the model - where the polygon technique looks like it is less risky. But its also a pain to have to click 3 times just to create one triangle in milkshape. |

Box modelling is good, if you have the eye for it. Just like the many other techniques, you need a decent eye for what your creating otherwise it becomes a pain regardless. My modeller uses nothing but box modelling and it works really well for him. |

I'm a mix of both, basically. I'll make a model and then delete portions of it, re-model it seperately, then piece it back together. |

Same as Noel.. Box modelling can only take you so far in my experience, and the rest is done "by hand".. especially with low-poly game models. |

I've modeled both ways, and also metaballs, etc. Don't stick to one only thing... |

I mainly model by cross sections of extruded edges. |
