Is there an sound editor that can speed up and slow down a clip in the same way that Windows Sound Recorder works?

Audacity is one of the best sound editors around and it is also free!

But why not just use Sound Recorder if it can do what you want it to do?

I tried Audacity but it crashed every time I tried to set the output device to my speakers in preferences.

And the reason I don't use Sound Recorder is that I have a Mac ; )
