Seems nice from what I listened to. However, this is worth noting : Are these sound files really free for me to use as I like? The sound files are freeware. They were not created by us, but were obtained from various sources on the Internet that referred to them as freely distributable. They can be used freely for use in web pages and so on, but some of the authors of these graphics might not approve of seeing them used for commercial purposes (e.g. making them part of a commercial software package.) |

Well, since they said: "but some of the authors of these graphics might not approve of seeing them used for commercial purposes" ...it seems they aren't talking about the sounds at all, but rather the graphics. The sounds are clearly marked as "freeware". |

At the bottom of the page the link goes to it actually says this:- "Disclaimer: Sound files found on this site were not created by the webmaster. They were obtained from various sources on the internet that labeled them as "freely distributable". If you should discover sound effects in this collection which you recognize as copyrighted, please email the webmaster immediately so that they may be removed. " |

...it seems they aren't talking about the sounds at all, but rather the graphics. The sounds are clearly marked as "freeware". Actually I thought it looked like they copied the text from the free web graphics page and forgotten to change the last reference to graphics. Freeware isn't a good enough definition to distribute for commercial purposes anyway, is it? If I download a freeware game, I can't modify it and sell it on. So surely the same applies to sounds. |
