Is there a place where I can download Intrument samples for free, that are well done? I mean, non-distorted 44.1kHz 16 Bit Samples of thinks like Drums (esp. Crash, Snare Kick etc.), Basses etc.?

They are great, thanks a lot! Especially those Orchestra instruments - not I got to make a monumental movie soundtrack :)

I just downloaded about 1.1GB of them so far (up to the end of the violin list).
It's a good job I don't have a bandwidth limit.
If I were on BT Broadband, I'd have hit my monthly limit already. :)

They are pretty good aren't they?

Yes, in deed. Those Neumann Microphones still rule. well, I only needed one Sample per Instrument, so it was even too good for me, anyway, got to cut off the other 11 Notes from each sample. But one thing I was missing: That classical concert bass drum (don't know the exact english name). A must have for dramatic music.

You might mean a timpani?

Dirk Krause(Posted 2004) [#7]
I guess it is Timpani.

Timpani or Kettle Drum.
