Level design tools?

Besides Maplet and Cshop, and of course general 3D modeling packages like 3D Studio, what level design tools are available for making lightmapped (indoor) levels in Blitz?

Has anyone tried using the Genesis Engine's level editor for making levels for Blitz?

hmm had a look at that one...

genesis is okay, but not very "portable" (between apps not
OS's)

I really wish bspfactory was sorted cause add that to the
half life level tools and you have a dead easy
pipe line.....

all thats really needed is for bsp factory to pass on
none standard entity classes that you could define
your own switches/gizmos etc....

I use to be in the genesis3d scene a long time ago and
I had always thought if someone could write a converter
for the g3d it would be an excellent level tool for blitz3d. It does radiosity light mapping as well as bsp
and vis in its on format much like quake.

I am currently building my own.... well an entity placer anyway, otherwise i would prob just use silo3d or a standard 3d modeling package rather than something designed especially for level design.

Don't know much more than it exists and the home page is German. From a Google translation I believe the program is available in English. Might take a look if ya want.

Uh...nevermind. It seems every downloadable version on the site is a corrupted archive. Oh well...

But here's something else. I'd be interested in what people think about this. I can't quite figure out if it's worth looking into or not.

I've been using DeleD increasingly. It doesn't cover ALL my level design needs, but it covers most interior level editing and it exports arbitrary geometry which I can edit further in another tool. It's not CSG but it does automatic texture coordinates. Oh yeah, and it's free.

I use gile[s] for lightmapping.
