i was just playing around and had some free time to run a bit of .x geometry from the sub sim through Skitch's old lightmapper...




not too bad ehhh...

it takes quite a while to do all of its work, but the results are pretty decent.

still having problems smoothing out cylinders though...

Looks nice. The lack of smoothing is a limitation of YAL, which Lightbulb uses for its lightmapping engine.

Lightbulb was a great thing when Skitchy first released it since it was the first lightmapping tool available for Blitz. But now gile[s] is much better, plus you can get the exact same lightmapping quality as Lightbulb (since it also uses YAL) for free, plus a better interface, with Slim Shady.

Well, Slim Shady may have some bugs. I agree, Gile[s]'s the ultimate tool, I also bought it, cause it supports smoothing.
