Select any installed Windows Font and TTF2PNG will allow you to set color/width/height for the character set.

Files saved are PNG with transparent background suitable for use with GUI libs that take bitmap fonts. Some libs may require specific character cell sizes or colors. Consult your GUI Lib documentation.

Requires the .NET runtime

I'm not a true friend of .NET stuff, but thanks a lot anyway! This is useful, eg. for xlnt II.

let me know if you want any additional features :)

I know .net can be a pain, but once the framework is installed, yer there :) and you would be suprised how simple this app was compared to doing it with C++/MFC

I coulda really made your life miserable and done it in java !! :)

It would be nice if you listed the GUI's that can use transparent PNG bitmap fonts, for those of us that have not started using, nor checked out, all the different GUI applications.

Thanks for a great app!

Since I havent surveyed all the GUI's yet myself, much less dug into them to the extent of seeing how they handle fonts, wellllllllllll :)

I'm playing with AlphaGUI right now, but thinking about XLNT II for app type programs unless it handles HUD type stuff as good or better than AlphaGUI

I just sorta figured they all used transparent fonts or you would end up with the text covering your background in a most unsightly manner.

I guess the best bet is to add an option to set the background color :)
