hello

I would like to know members' opinion about GameSpace 1.5 particulary as far as animation tools are concerned.
Actually I am mainly looking for a valid alternative to CharacterFX, which remains, in my opinion, an excellent software, anyway.
Any problem with the exported .b3d file from the new 1.5 version?
Do all the Biltz3d "Children" comands work regulary?
Can I take advantage of the recent b3d file updating, using GameSpace 1.5?
thanks in advance

Hi Alberto,

Gamespace can export your work in .B3d animated or not without problems.

You can check thier forums too :

But...gameSpace does not now how to handle vertex weighting! And IMHO it is *very* difficult to get vertex weight from their current bones model. Instead of bone/weights gameSpace uses lattices to deform the mesh during animation.

But, if you don't need vertex weighting, gameSpace is a very usefull tool.

hello Kornflex and knotz
Thanks for your reply

"Instead of bone/weights gameSpace uses lattices to deform the mesh during animation."

That's what I am worried about.
I may survive without "vertex weighting" but it seems that GameSpace use bones to pose the mesh but it converts a skeleton animation into a vertex animation when exporting ,in other words the bones are lost in the animated file
I hope I am wrong

Knotz(Posted 2004) [#5]
Well, gameSpace does export your model *with* bones. Only it attaches one bone per vertex.

fine,thanks again

Typical Caligari- there's always a catch with their software
