Hoi. Take a look at this:
http://map3bspc.sourceforge.net

It seems to be a free and opensource q3 bsp compiling tool
independant from id software.

I managed to compile and load a simple map in blitz but
not fully succesfull. [all the parts wouldn't show etc.]

Maybe Mark can look at this and add it to maplet?

No, unless Mark releases Maplet under the terms of the GNU/GPL license, what I think won't happen.

I don't think the GNU/GPL requires him to do that. As I understand the license, it only requires him to make available any substantial changes he makes to the compiler itself. if/When it's actually working properly, he wouldn't have to make any changes to the compiler itself.
