Can you import DirectX (*.x) with textures into Cartography Shop?

I heard that it will be release soon...

You can make prefabs. There is a 3ds max exporter, and I can make a little converter for .x and .3ds files if you want.

Halo - do you still get the map tools with CS?

Am I right in thinking these allowed you to convert a .map file into .x /.b3d (or other format)?

JoshK(Posted 2003) [#5]
The .map tool is discontinued. Future version of CShop may import/export .map.

Ahh - that's a bit of a blow, as the project I'm working on was going to make use of them (which is why I was going to purchase CS3!).

You wouldn't be willing to issue the .map tool on a one off basis (assuming I purchase CS3)? Or is it not compatible with CS3?

So I can't import .x files into my maps built in Cartography??? I am confused..

I want to build my basic shape of the rooms with Cartography and then use .x files as prefabs. Placing the .x objects in the rooms and then be able to export the maps out. I guess you can say I'm hoping I can use the program as a map editor.

Pao, that's exactly how it works. Give me a few days to put the converter out.
