I wrote this before looking in the code archives (and have since noticed nebula's code), my way is different but both achieve the desired result. :)

usage:
file$ = "C:\temp\test.txt"
Print ExtractFileName$(file$)
Print ExtractFileExt$(file$)
Print ExtractFilePath$(file$)
