Am I right in thinking that when you use the Gui commands such as RequestFile$ that when the window pops up since you have no control over this (themes and menu layout are set in Windows) that the words and layout are particular to that version and language version of Windows.

For example, in the Japanese version of Windows, when you're in Notepad and click save as, all the words and buttons are in Japanese. eg the 'save' and 'cancel' buttons are there but they're not written in English as save and cancel.
They're not going to appear in English 'magically' just for B+ are they just because I happened to compile a program using an English version of Windows, are they?

As far as I know they use standard Windows API. Therefore, the operating system decides how to layout GUI requestors according to the system language and themes etc. (as you said).
