libstdc++.so.5 needed?

I have successfully built my module, now trying to use it with a program I get the error "libstdc++.so.5 needed by" it is saying a linked library I am importing requires this?

Do I have any other options than contacting the developer and asking if it could be re-built using libstdc++.so.6?

I'd suggest you do that.

In the meantime, couldn't you just install libstdc++5?

@kfprimm, tried that and it did not help, seems mixing libs in the linker causes problems.
