Quick question - do these work OK now in Vista/7?

I'm sure I started a thread asking such a question a couple of months ago, but I'm buggered if I can find it now.

I still get the one second delay with Freeaudio, Never really had a problem with DirectSound though, so can't give you a definite answer on that one.

My sound card is a Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty.

What does Blitzmax default to these days?

skidracer(Posted 2011) [#4]
On Windows, Mark's DirectSound driver, on MacOS and Linux FreeAudio. Which is why I think there have been no threads about such problems in recent months.

Thanks... I just reinstalled vista to double check, and my game does indeed suffer a one-second lag on audio.

I don't recall changing the driver from the default one so I'll have to investigate further tomorrow as I don't have Blitzmax, Subversion or anything installed yet, its 1:20am, Vista is p*ssing me off already by being dumb, and I can't be bothered any more.

My bad - I was using FreeAudio.

VISTA Suck! Everyone know it but I can understand why you did for testing thought.

Actually, Vista after all service packs is as stable as Win7. Same kernel and all...
(and yes, I own both, installed on the same machine :P)

Actually, Vista after all service packs is as stable as Win7
...apart from FreeAudio not working in vista when it works perfectly well in Windows 7.

SLotman(Posted 2011) [#10]
...well it doesn't work well on XP either (the 1s lag also happens on XP), so it's not a Vista problem :P

Grey Alien(Posted 2011) [#11]
I never had the lag happen in XP with FreeAudio, use it for all my games (several million downloads). Are you sure? Definitely happens in Vista. Not tested in Win7.
