Hi my antivirus app has logged that it has blocked a Screen Capture and Keylogger app in the "BLIde setup.exe" not sure which version as I have been keeping up to date with BLIde and I have purchased the plus version.

Anyone else getting a similar problem with BLIde?

BLIde setup utility is done with a 100% reliable deployment program, I'm sure it is false positive of your antivirus program. Can I ask wich antivirus system are you using?

jkrankie(Posted 2009) [#3]
sorry to hijack the thread, i'm sure you AV is reporting a false positive anyway.

Ziggy, i posted a message on your forums about the toolbar disappearing in Blide. could you take a look?

Cheers
Charlie

@jkrankie: I've replied in the BLIde forums.

Hi ziggy it's triggered a block screen capture on:

mia5BE5.tmp\BLIde setup.exe 09/04/2009
miaCAC4.tmp\BLIde setup.exe 16/04/2009

both in the Local\Temp directory of my user account.

Windows Vista 32bit
AV Norton Symantec

Those files contain the msi files of the installation, the license information and some install instructions but none of them contains a screen capture of any kind. That's a false positive. You may add the BLIde setup.exe in the list of 'safe' programs.

Hi Ziggy I've rolled back to a version that doesn't have this issue and works fine for me as I'm in the middle of developing a couple of new games and my paranoia level is a bit higher than normal ;o)!

Keep up the good work though!

AV Norton Symantec

I think that's your problem right there. We used Norton at work ages ago, and the damn thing kept throwing false-positives left, right and centre. Then of course, the first REAL virus that appeared on the scene it waved through on a red carpet. ;)

No ofense intended here, but Norton av has a very well known story of false possitives, apart for having a very big footprint of CPU usage:

That one is fun: http://www.jimmyr.com/blog/Norton_AntiVirus_is_A_Virus_97_2007.php

IMHO, I would recomend anyone to use Nod32 or Kaspersky or even avira instead of Norton.

Hi Ziggy these look like old posts

It seems to have worked quite well so far.

I previously used Kaspersky on an older machine and it was a complete CPU hog (circa 2008).

plash(Posted 2009) [#11]
I would also suggest Nod32.

@Merx: that's right the posts are a bit old so maybe things have improved since then. No ofense was intended, I was just explaining my personal preferences on AV software.
