New Samples Suggestion

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Programming/New Samples Suggestion

QuickSilva(Posted 2008) [#1]
BMax has been out a while now and it has come on leaps and bounds since it was first released so how about all of us contribute some new samples to add to the sample folder that is provide with the program.

I`m sure some people here could produce some really neat stuff for new users to take a look at.

How about it guys, anyone interested in contributing?

Jason.

Sounds good K@li, please post when those are available. Thanks!

I would suggest that if these were to go into BMax's sample folder, not to include anything that requires 3rd party modules or DLLs. It's the samples people compile to decide if BMax is worth buying or not. It wouldn't be good if a program won't compile because they don't have irrlitch or minib3d installed.

... not to include anything that requires 3rd party modules or DLLs.

That makes sense :-)

I think he's requesting that somebody else do it...

Its hard to discern what he means in any of his posts, take a pick.

"Its hard to discern what he means in any of his posts, take a pick."

WTF?

An optional 'samples pack' would be better so that the size of the main Max download demo remains small

I think any included samples should be tutorial-based too

WTF?
Hmm? OH you thought I meant you ;P

Better docs? Long overdue....

K@li(Posted 2008) [#12]
yes !

a better doc pdf was apprecied !

QuickSilva(Posted 2008) [#13]
I agree with Jim Brown, tutorial based samples would be a very good idea as would the additional samples pack. I would also like to see updated docs that had more structure. I wonder if BRL would be willing to freelance this job out to someone here on the forums as it would help everyone in the long run.

It`s just when you are a new user you immediately go to the samples to see what the language can do. BlitzMax is a great language but lacks a little in the samples area I think which is a shame as it can give people the wrong impression.

Jason.

right QuickSilva

the deep capability of BMAX are not showed in the actual samples...
