Help.

I just installed the latest updates to Blitz Max, and now I can't sync modules. I get the following message.
Synchronize Modules
Synchronizing: brl
Error connecting to server: Unrecognized username or password
Synchronizing: pub
Error connecting to server: Unrecognized username or password
Synchronizing: axe
Error connecting to server: Unrecognized username or password

Process complete

I'm using the same username and password I have been for the past two years. WTF?

There is no need to be impolite, I'm sure it will be addressed soon.

CoderLaureate(Posted 2008) [#3]
Sorry didn't realize I was being impolite.

Anyway, have a try now.

Interesting ;-)

Twitchfactor(Posted 2008) [#7]
Not sure if he was being impolite, since I thought the same thing... especially since I couldn't access the forums all weekend.

Seems to be sorted now, so whatever...

LarsG(Posted 2008) [#8]
Of course he was being impolite.
Using the "F" word, will never be polite.

SausageOfDoom(Posted 2008) [#9]
Maybe his version means What the Flip! ;op

While not directly related to the syncmods prob you ran into, you may want to pick a different password anyway, considering that there's been a link to this above the forums for over six months now:

It would appear that someone has been attempting to harvest passwords from the site lately using a javascript hack.

A similar attack was made about 6 months ago which was plugged at the time, but I can't be 100% sure that this latest attack did not work as the hacks were removed before I could get a look at them.

The upshot of all this is I strongly suggest people change their site passwords immediately. Such javascript hacks apparently only affect IE6, but you never know...

Also, please note that passwords are currently stored and transmitted in plain text, so do not use a 'valuable' password. I plan to remedy this eventually, but such a solution currently falls outside my meagre web skills.

Sorry folks.

That's the way I talk. I certainly didn't mean to be rude. Sometimes I let one slip around my neices and nephews too.
