Can't Download BlitzMax 1.26 Mac PPC Update

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Programming/Can't Download BlitzMax 1.26 Mac PPC Update

SebHoll(Posted 2007) [#1]
Is anyone else able to download the update to v1.26 of BlitzMax for PPC? I can download the Intel Mac one fine, but the PPC update stops at around 3.9MB and then terminates.

Thanks

BlitzSupport(Posted 2007) [#2]
I just got the same result here (a 3.6 MB broken archive replacing my complete download!). I'll ask Mark to check it out.

SebHoll(Posted 2007) [#3]
Bump!

Winni(Posted 2007) [#4]
Got the same problem here...

nino(Posted 2007) [#5]
Has this been fixed?
I've been holding out on updating my g5.

Winni(Posted 2007) [#6]
Nope. Still get "decompression failed".

JazzieB(Posted 2007) [#7]
I believe that Mark said in another thread that v1.28 is imminent, so that there wasn't much point fixing the download because of this.

However, he did sort of imply that it would be updated within a day or so, and that was a few days ago now. Hopefully not too much longer to wait.

degac(Posted 2007) [#8]
Well - not a good marketing policy for a multi-platform product...Even if release 1.28 is due for tomorrow it should be possibile to download the latest release...

LarsG(Posted 2007) [#9]
hmm.. I didn't have any problems upgrading my iMac G5 to 1.26..

Winni(Posted 2007) [#10]
Well, we don't have problems with the upgrade itself, we just have problems downloading and unzipping the archive, because the archive file itself is broken. I tried downloading it from a couple of machines with different OS versions, and that simply rules out a problem with one specific computer.

Anyway, we'll just have to wait for the next round of updates.

Wow. Just, wow.

Winni(Posted 2007) [#12]
Yep. The download for 1.26/PPC still does not work, and it's been about a week since Mark spoke about the 1.28 update that would come "maybe later today".

In the meantime, we might be able to play with Java 6 for Leopard. Muahahahaha.

jhans0n(Posted 2007) [#13]
I was able to download it a while back when it was first released, but it was unusable, so I went back and reinstalled 1.24. 1.26 was much too buggy.

Tachyon(Posted 2007) [#14]
What is the status on this? I have a PPC Mac headed my way right now and I will need to download this in the next 2-3 days.

tonyg(Posted 2007) [#15]
If James asked Mark to sort it out 2 weeks ago and its still broken then there seems to be a communication problem within BRL.
James, what did Mark say when you told him there was an issue?

Winni(Posted 2007) [#16]
Tried the download a minute ago, the archive still fails to decompress.

Tachyon(Posted 2007) [#17]
1.26 archive is still broken.

I installed 1.24 and tried to sync and got this:

What does this mean?

Tachyon(Posted 2007) [#18]
Oh, this may be because I don't have Xcode on the PPC yet. BRL- you may want to move that topic from BlitzMax Beginners to the MacOS X Discussion and sticky it.

However, the 1.26 PPC update is still punked.

Tom Darby(Posted 2007) [#19]
Bump. Not to be a pain, but this is holding up a point release...

marksibly(Posted 2007) [#20]
Hi,

You'll have to wait a bit sorry as I've managed to, umm, 'lose'
the 126 update file.

128 is very nearly ready to go, but in the meantime can't you use 124 for your point release?

Tom Darby(Posted 2007) [#21]
S'ok--life intervened to hold off the point release, anyhow. Thanks for the update!
