I am fairly certain it can be done using mplayer and embedding the output in your window.

As a more general question, for windows, could B3D exe be used with CreateProcess to play movies?

Would be nice if Ogg Theora (non-patented, open source video format) was available with BMax as a module. Cross-platform and no licensing issues!
