Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone had any ideas on how classic racing games like super hangon worked. I assume its some kind of sudo 3d.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Skidmarks still being written? i played a beta years ago at an idicon meeting, should have been finished ages ago.

Yeah, it was pseudo 3D: all your buildings, signs, rocks and all that were simply 2D images which were scaled as they approached the foreground.

sudo 3D is a different beast entirely, and requires superuser privs to use.

Hehe, of course! But that still doesnt answear they managed to render the track? From what I can geuss it is a simply strips drawn on the screen scaled width ways depending on how far away that piece of track is.

No.

There are several examples of this in the Code Archives IIRC.
