Blitzmax 1.24 - increased EXE size?

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Programming/Blitzmax 1.24 - increased EXE size?

GfK(Posted 2006) [#1]
Hello.

In 1.22, an EXE built with Debug on, was about 2.5mb. In 1.24 its 3.5mb.

Where's the extra mb come from?!

Didn't tonyg say it came from the debug code for max3d?

Picklesworth(Posted 2006) [#3]
Yes, Tonyg did write that.
*Cough*countext :b

Anyhow, it is a bit weird. Maybe some new secret debugging features?

Woah, oggvorbis.mod has gone from 200K to 1300K - didn't realize that!

I'm sure this is fixable.

Eeek, my bad. I didn't realise ogg encoding used huge static arrays. Will move the new SaveOgg command to an axe module so vorbisenc.c is not imported by pub.oggvorbis.

GfK(Posted 2006) [#6]
Hi - will this be fixed in update 1.25, or via syncmods at some point?

skidracer(Posted 2006) [#7]
Will do it right now.

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#8]
well spotted. Thanks.

skidracer(Posted 2007) [#9]
I've moved the SaveOgg function to a new module axe.oggsaver which hopefully solves this problem, please syncmods for latest.
