Mode7 in BlitzMax?

Just out of interest, anyway a crappy 3D module does better than software mode mode7. This thought comes from here: http://www.rpg-palace.com/scripts/mode07.php but it's deadly slow(execute in ruby script...arrrgh!!) I think there's some easier ways to do this in Max2D.. It's a pity that Ninja Kart wasn't finished. |

Ahh? I don't think we're talking a display mode here. You basically want a 2D map, which is viewed with a perspective. It can be done with BlitzMax OpenGL support or hacked Max2D yes. |

Yes, not a display mode, just faking/simulating it. There're some idea in my mind for that, will try to do.. |

You simply draw the map in 3D as small planes for each tile. Then you rotate the camera to fit. Now you draw objects at a different angle and that should be it. |
