In an effort to give something back to the community - these have probably all been done before, but in case they are useful to anyone, here is a link to my worklog. The code produces some image effects created by manipulating pixmaps, for a paint type program I am working on for my kids - B&W, Sepia, Negative, sketch, Watercolor, Mosaic and others. Not the prettiest or quickest code in the world, but I think there are some quite interesting results. You will need to sub in your image to use.
