hi

have anyone testet linux compiled bmax sources on the GP2X ?

is it possible to make bmax games for gp2x under linux and if so which linux version i must use ?

JazzieB(Posted 2006) [#2]
Not possible, as the current Linux version of BlitzMax will only work with machines that have an x86 processor. The GP2X has ARM processors. There was talk of writing a compiler for the GP2X amongst forum members (i.e. not BRL staff), but don't expect anything to come of it.

you are right...

BTW Panno,
Have you bought a GP2X?

I bought one.

I'm waiting for XGP ... hope to get something more "innovative" than just another GameBoy ...

just a thought, couldnt you take the .s in a .bmx directory made on a x86 linux system and use and arm cross assembler on it?

I'm not really into compilers and stuff, but all the hardware is working differently so my guess is that the modules would need to be adopted to the GP2X.

But since it is linux, there might be some sort of standard way to adress the hardware... So perhaps...? I don't know. But I'd love to see BMax for the GP2X :)
