If i use Kubuntu with gnome all max gui gadgets are not in the gnome theme ? Why ?

Dreamora(Posted 2006) [#2]
Because it uses FLTK and not the gnome GUI (QT if I'm not wrong).
Linux has no standardized GUI system like Windows and OSX, it depends on the used window manager, thats why.

Kuron(Posted 2006) [#3]
If you are using Linux, I recommend using IGlass. Then it will look the same on Linux no matter what GUI system you are using.

(QT if I'm not wrong)

Just figured I'd correct you here -- it uses Gtk. Qt is used by KDE.

If you are using Linux, I recommend using IGlass.

Telling that to the guy who made IGlass? ;)

Dreamora(Posted 2006) [#5]
ah ok. I never was really interested in which one was used in XandrOS to tell the truth. As long as it works ;-) I only know that I had to download the FLTK dev on any distri I tried so far ... :-)

Don't you love the irony?

Kindof makes you wonder why he's not using his GUI, really.

err maybe coz he wants to use the system gui.

Dreamora(Posted 2006) [#9]
Yeah but linux does not have "one" as it is a hacker "everyone does it on his own way" system ;-)

This intelligent approach only exists on Windows and OSX

Filax(Posted 2006) [#10]
Brice Manuel : Lol :)))))your right my friend :)
Yes i want just test max gui to see features :)

N(Posted 2006) [#11]

Nobody should ever want to use FLTK.

Booticus(Posted 2006) [#12]
Filax get back to work on iGlass and that skinpack of yours!! :) :) :)

Dreamora(Posted 2006) [#13]
Noel: theoretical you are right ... the Problem is that KDE and Gnome users would never want to see the concurring GUI system as well and FLTK at least is "neutral" ;-)
Beside that the license of the others (at least QT) isn't suited for BRL license type.

Filax(Posted 2006) [#14]
My skin pack ? it was a long time that is ready :) But for
the linux GUI look, i'm a little bit desapointed :(

I really dont understand this "fltk looks ugly" myth thats usualy cursaded by ppl to lazy to make their own theme...

I have never heard anyone say the thunderbird email client looks ugly and its gui kit looks idential to the default fltk theme.
