Is there anyway to set label fonts and sizes for an IGL_Label type?

Not directly, because Iglass control are made
with font width and height ! and TTF + StringWidth
return sometime strange result with some font.

But you can try to modify font under Iglass scheme ? :)

Any chance that will be in the next release? I'm thinking that for game development it would be unusual if the controls where fixed height. Most option menus for example, tend to be only a few controls using a large font.
