how much $ will the gui module be?

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Programming/how much $ will the gui module be?

Najdorf(Posted 2005) [#1]
Might the gui module be free or is it certain that it will cost bucks?

IMO the 3D module should cost bucks (say 30-40$), but the GUI (and more window support) should be free... after all 3D is more an "optional" (since there is already opengl support), but every serious language needs a gui (or at least serious window support).

Are there official news on the prices?

Robert(Posted 2005) [#2]
I have not seen any official comments on prices from either Mark or Skid as of yet.

The "paying for Max mods" debate is already raging in another thread in the General forum.

I expect that you will have to pay for both.

I think windowsupport won't be part of GUI only, as it was mentioned that it will come.

I think windowsupport won't be part of GUI only,

You mean windowsupport will be part of the 3d lib as well or that the windows part of the gui will be released seperately for cheaper or free?

I was under the impression that the GUI module would be a free addon?

(At least) two threads already running on this subject:

Just to clarify:

- I believe that the GUI module will be a charged add-on
- Improved support for running BlitzMAX apps in windowed (ie. non-fullscreen) mode will come through the usual updates.

Does anyone actually care? Either you'll need/want (delete as appropriate) it and buy it, or you won't.

It's not exactly rocket science is it?

nawi(Posted 2005) [#9]
Is it going to be graphical (like IGlass) gui or using the windows/linux/mac default gui systems.

kfprimm(Posted 2005) [#10]
probably default gui systems

RiK(Posted 2005) [#11]
Default GUI on Mac/PC, FLTK on Linux.
