I checked the demo version nr it says 1.09, but does it allow people to sync-mods? Why isn't it the same as release?! Why show people solved bugs? And most important why allow for the possibility to make code from release and demo incompatible..

Why not sync mod: Simple as the demo does not include the module sources which are on the official sync server.

You can't sync mods because in order to do that you have to provide your login name and password, which you only get when you have bought the full registered product. It is a demo, after all.

No offense intended, but let's look at the priorities. BRL only has a limited amount of man-power. If they are going to set the demo up to syncmod they have to either a) figure out a way in one process to separate the stuff that will be synced on a demo version from a full sync, or b) construct a completely new and separate process to sync demos. Given that many of us are breathlessly awaiting the release of MaxGUI and Max3D, what would you have that limited manpower spent on?

I don't see a lot of people not buying BlitzMax because a previous version of the demo has a complicated bug that most demo users won't even notice, or because demo code won't work with the full version. Many demos don't allow saving at all! Someone that says they aren't buying because of these things would find another reason not to buy if these were fixed. It is a "demo," after all...

I do agree that the demo is unimportant compared to anything else BMax related, just seemed like this was just a matter of commenting out one line of code, the one with SyncModsDownload *.bmx and pasting it into the demo code.

Except it would always fail as syncmods requires a current BlitzMax enabled user account and password in order to operate hence why we disable it in the free demo version of BlitzMax.
