Dunno if I missed something being focused on Blitz3d mainly, but this one was looking very promising(breathtaking):

Openb3d and its BlitzMax wrapper is still alive. With good attention, they may become better. They are open source, the limit, is our talent.

Hey, looks pretty cool. Would love to see the source! Well I guess we'll have to wait and see if it ever goes public.

It looks like he's taking BlitzMax out of the picture and might go into another direction with OpenGL/GLSL. The 'Massive Dark' is now omitted on his 2 new videos.

I have yet to see a real life based scene where the shaders have a purpose, otherwise its a bunch of illusion demos with shiny lights and bright surfaces on them.
