Consolas is a great font for IDE, I use it in CodeBlocks, NetBeans, Blide IDE and many other IDEs, why in official IDE it is bold and ugly? Just compare and see it for yourself.

Maybe this post helps: http://www.blitzmax.com/Community/posts.php?topic=104854

Also, for alternatives Blide is very popular and for free is this http://www.blitzmax.com/Community/posts.php?topic=104860

Thanks, I have Blide, it is good. I like the official IDE because it loads fast. I will try Calibri.

I've tried all kinds of fonts over the years. I've settled on
Pro-font for the last few years.

BlitzMax is one of those languages that looks good with both monospaced and traditional fonts. Since BASIC was originally designed to look more like English, using spaces and tabs accordingly can work well with essentially any font. Except WingDings. Lol.

I don't see any difference in quality with Consolas in Blitzmax to
any other application that uses it i.e. Textpad purebasic etc
Looks the same in both

@okee,

Not for me, even with community edition. The community edition is actually not stable. I set the consolas font once which looks good, then when I reload BMAX, the font looks bad. Solution is to change the font after reload, then set to consolas back again every time, which is a headache. I use Windows 8, with Windows 7, the same.
