Supported 3d formats?

BlitzMax Forums/MiniB3D Module/Supported 3d formats?

Hey guys I couldn't find this info anywhere, so I'm asking :)

Does minib3d support other 3d formats apart from b3d, or are there any plans in the future to implement other formats?

No.....and......no.

I will add some other loaders to my extended Version. Currently I have ready :
md2
md3
3ds
obj + mtl

Working on :
Collada + binary cache system

Also I'm currently thinking about a generic Loader class like the image loaders in max2d. Maybe this could be a way to let others provide a handful model importers easily.

No.....and......no.

Hi I just want to check if this is still the case. That is, the only file format supported by minib3d is b3d file format. It looks like that is the case but I want to be sure.

The reason I ask is that I was hoping to use md2 on iphone for a morphing-style animation, and if minib3d doesn't support md2 then it's pretty natural that iminib3d doesn't either.

Yes it still only supports .b3d. Klepto's version did include .md2 support, if you fancy porting that bit of code.

Alright thanks for pointing that out. If this were an important project I'd try that actually, but this one just falls under "oh well so much for that idea, I'll just work on one of my other dozen ideas."
