XLWriter examples not valid in Excel2007

Hello, when opening example1.xlsx file in Excel2007 it says that "Excel found unreadable content in 'example1.xlsx'. Do you want to recover the contents of....". I tried to see what was going on under the hood and found that removing <cols> part from document reduces errors to just one, but this I can't shake no matter what I try. I operate in Windows. Probably some minor detail is wrong. Open Office seems to handle it without errors, but it would be nice to be able open then in MSExcell as well. I'll appreciate any input on this

Okei, I did some investigation and it would seem to be related to float values in the example. Perhaps Bmax floats are not in Excel friendly format because it always wants to convert them into strings.
