Music in SFXR?

Brucey, I just found your excellent SFXR implementation. Great stuff-- I've learned a lot from it, even the GUI code which is an interesting way of doing things.

I'm wondering if you've experimented at all with making musical notes in SFXR. Is there some sort of canonical correspondence between frequency and note? I tried 440 and it sounded like A but maybe I'm wrong? Or was it .440 that I tried? Something like that. I don't quite understand how the floating point fraction of 1 works as frequency.

Is there anything out there that does SID-like tones from the C64? I have the feeling SFXR could do a lot of that. I'm interested in doing some experiments with procedural music...
