Old school 2d dot sphere a la star wars...

I was thinking of doing an old school rotating dot sphere and convinced myself that I would be able to google an example in seconds only to get no hits...

Admittedly the effect is very old and the code should be quit easy to recreate with a bit of hunting for the right math's code...

But I'm wondering if anyone knows of a link to some 2d demo code that displays a rotating sphere of dots?

Kind Regards

Merx

I think there was an old demo that came with BlitzPlus (or maybe B2D?) by Tracer I think that did this. I don't have it any more.

Umm. Easy way would be set up a perspective projection, create a bunch of 3d points with x,y,z coords, then rotate the model. To actually draw your sphere this is almost what you're going to need to do anyway.

Simonh's fireworks sample creates a 3D sphere with 2D points. I'd check that and see if you can modify it to your needs.
