OpenAL best sound driver for Mac?

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Beginners Area/OpenAL best sound driver for Mac?

Does OpenAL work well on a Mac? Which files do I need to make sure to include with my game with regards to OpenAL? Are there two different versions? Do I need to include both? I assume the answer is yes to both questions but I just wanted to check.

I`m already using OpenAL with Vista, is it the best option for Mac users too? I guess I simply place them (.dlls?) in a folder along with my game?

Thanks for any advice.
Jason.

OpenAL is installed by default on Mac, so you may as well use it.

You won't have to include any shared objects (dlls).

Just out of interest how well does it work? There are no sound delays for example are there?

Is there a place to download the Vista .dlls to include with my game as I can only find the installers from the official Creative site.

Jason.

Install OpenAL, nab the DLLs out of Windows/System32, then uninstall.

hey QuickSilva, your a grey alien framework user aren't you?

if so in the AOTMG folder theres:
OpenAL32.dll
wrap_oal.dll

if your not a framework user then download my Rubber Duck Shoot game from Pongo's rubber duck contest thread.

GFK: Does that still work when developing on XP 32 bit and releasing on Vista 64 bit and vice-versa?
