Can I run Blitz Max on a just purchased (May 1, 2007) Intel Mac-mini with the 1.83 Ghz Core Duo processor?
(512mb memory, 80 gig dr. Intel shared graphics)

What are the Apple installs (Xcode? , Carbon? any others?)
necessary?

I don't know much about Mac's or BMax yet- but I have used Blitz-3d for several years.

Thanks!

Should be fine. The only thing that you will need to install is X-Code, which will be on the OS X DVD.

I don't know why, reading the forum issues on the Intel Macs left me feeling confused....

Thanks JazzieB!

I will be ordering BlitzMax soon! RealBasic appeals to the VB side of me, but I noticed it is really "wordy" and not what I want to learn all over again.

There shouldn't be any problems, I've been running BlitzMax on my new Intel Mac for a few months now and haven't had any problems yet, after installing XCode.

REALbasic is great if you need rock solid cross-platform GUI apps - and if you know VB, it's very easy to pick up.

For more graphics-oriented (read Games), BlitzMax is pretty much unbeatable as an easy-to-use cross-platform language.

As Jazzie says, install XCode and you should be ready to go!
