2d Acceleration

BlitzMax Forums/BlitzMax Beginners Area/2d Acceleration

Its my understanding that max2d whilst a 2dEngine, is 3d accelerated. (And I understand why)

Is there though a 2d accelerated engine?
There was a thread a while ago that mentioned it, I think, but I cannot find the one Im thinking of.
If there isnt, could someone tell me a good 2d accelerated DLL, and how to make it useable in Bmax.
ie Tutorial to do it

No, not natively (not optimal and "fast enough" for the desired effects like alpha and scaling/rotating with filtering)

But there is a SDL module (full / partial ... don't know), which was created by Neol if I remember correctly.

I recently released a 2D module for BMAX that emulates the 3D API (via DX7). It works on non-3d cards and provides 3D acceleration if a 3d card is detected. It's also cross platform since Mac support of hardware and software OpenGL is very good.. You can find it (for the moment) on http://modules.indiepath.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40

And yes you can do Alpha, rotation and scaling at very fast speeds.
