3D module for Max coming?

I'm busy designing an updated version of the original Railroad Tycoon for kicks. However, while the current version of BlitzMax will work for the native non3D top-down view of the original game, my graphic arteeest insists we think about doing it isometric, ala RRT 2 and 3.

I'm not planning on going isometric with the first release, which will take us 4-6 months. However, I may head in that direction in the 6-12 month window. Any chance we'll see a BlitzMax 3-D upgrade by then? I'm not interested in coding the app for both BlitzMax and Blitz3D.

Any clues? I haven't seen much in the forums so far, so perhaps this isn't even on the docket for future Max upgrades?

You don't need 3D for isometric. Is that what you're getting at?

What would you be using 3D for?

landscape and special effects comes to mind..

easier than 2d tiles, but no longer "the old isometric look" ^^
