I notice from the specs that it says Open GL Hardware support recommended for the Linux version - is that necessary for 3D stuff only?

I'm running Fedora Core 3 with a Radeon 9600. By all accounts OpenGL 2D support is built into x.org and running GLgears gives me 264 frames per sec an as I'm only really interested in producing 2D stuff will I be OK?

Cheers

2D uses OpenGL as well so you need OpenGL hardware support for that. But if you've got a Radeon 9600 surely you have OpenGL hw support?

Yeah - no worries. Anything getting 3 digit scores in GLGears should run BlitzMAX, and BlitzMAX applications just fine.

Great Stuff - thx guys - Peturbatio : you were right and I was suffering from Sunday hangover when I wrote my original post.

Still, I know now I can go ahead and buy it :)

Cheers
