Great support forum, docs downloads, etc.

Also a web version is available for the same lib..
(much slower than Blitz of course but good demos)

Looks really cool and useful, but I get a "memory access violation" error when I try to select a demo in the demo exe:(

mike950(Posted 2007) [#5]
Thanks for the report!
If you could let me know which demo gives the violation
I'll check that.

It happens as soon as I select any of the demos from the pull-down menu. Those flash demos work though.

mike950(Posted 2007) [#7]
Ah ok,
I eliminated some of the possibilities and re-uploaded it
if you would like to try again.
Also a big help would be if you have blitz3d to try and
compile and run the source for the demo in debug mode.
Thanks for your feedback!

Wow, this looks excellent. Well done with the wrapper.

I wonder how difficult it would be to create a large collision environment from a tileset or similar using this system.

The biggest problem I have with systems like this is that they would be much more useful if there was an accompanying tool to construct environments or objects with appropriate links and such. This is one of the cool things about easytok, for example.

Thanks!
Unfortunately I haven't actually had time to use the library much to make anything except the wrapper and some
simple demos.
Yeah since the box2d library is fairly new it's probably
just a matter of time until someone creates nice tools like that. Actually I did notice someone made an editor for it
but I believe it was unfinished and outputted c++ code.
Its under the links section in
http://box2d.org

But thanks again! Hope everyone finds it useful.

If you happen to also own DarkBasic PRO then there are some free wrappers available for Box2D:

v1.41 - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&b=8&t=115268&p=0
v2.00 - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=126064&b=5
