For those like me that want masses of docs to read through, I've created an introductory tute for JV-ODE, available here http://www.davidcoombes.f2s.com/ode_for_newbies.pdf Covers the basics of how to create objects, assign materials, and provides a library of functions for simple scene creation. I also talk a little about how ODE differs from Tokamak seeing as I and quite a few other users I imagine migrated from this other system. If it's helpful let me know, as I'll provide other tutes when I build up my own system. |

Great to see someone finally put together an ODE tutorial. Nice work Shifty Geezer :) Btw, you could post the tutorial here too... http://playerfactory.proboards25.com/index.cgi?board=odedemos&action=display&thread=1109847007 I'm sure many people will be very grateful. |

Great tutorial! Thanks! Needs to be 'sticky'-ed somewhere so others can find it :) I'll try petitioning for the return of the tutorials forum. |

Just read a bit, but I'm too tired to finish it tonight, but looks really good. Just a thought; For those who've not yet bought into it, but are thinking they might, it would be nice if those specific examples were set up as a number of exes, then ,when it says "run this and see the effect", you could and it may make it easier to follow. Maybe a good helper for those still not quite sure wether to get a copy of something ODE or not. I dunno, I could be all wrong but that was the feeling I got as I read along with it. |

I agree, and so provided the code in complete blocks every now and then so you can copy and paste into a Blitz program. I don't know any way to embed an .exe into a .pdf ;) And I used .pdf because it's printer friendly for those that like paper docs. |
