| Can a compressed executable can affect its performance and crashing the application? |

| Don't think so because Upx does only compress the .exe file and writes on top of the compressed programm a little programm that decompresses the file and loads its data into the ram so you aren't loosing any performance, maybe while loading. The next thing is that there are companies that use Upx (if you belife the text on their hp) so I think it is serious. |

| I would be careful with compressors tho. Some anti virus software may flag it as 'suspicious', because packers are commonly used by malware distributors and hackers. |
