Hello all,

I have been using IDEal since I first started with Blitz and had heard of an AceSoft BlitzView IDE. How can using this BlitzView differ from the IDEal editor?

Thank You!,
Austin H.

I for one can't find any evidence that BlitzView is still available anywhere.

So, score one for IDEal because it actually exists, I guess.

To be honest, you're not going to find a better IDE than IDEal anyway. The only thing I can think of that it doesn't have is version control integration, which isn't a big deal anyway (since having that in the IDE is just a matter of convenience rather than productivity). Any other missing features from more powerful IDEs generally don't apply to Blitz3D.

Although I do wish it was open source.

Are there any other IDE's for blitz basic besides protean?
thank you

It might be because I am an old fart, but I prefer simplicity in my IDEs. I do NOT own B3D, but the default IDE in Blitz Plus and Blitz Max more than meet my needs.

If there is something you feel is lacking in the B3D IDE, say what it is and perhaps somebody can suggest an alternative to you. There are literally hundreds of third-party IDEs out there, any of which should be able to be used with B3D with a little bit of configuration.
