Search the code archive in seconds !

Blitz3D Forums/Blitz3D Programming/Search the code archive in seconds !

The code archive is indeed a gold mine.

However, it's quite hard, sometime, to find the right code, since there's no search in this forum for the code archive.

That's why I've developed the code archive search. It helps you to find the code you're looking for in no time :)

It's a .NET application, so you may download the latest microsoft .net framework, otherwise it won't work.

Happy search !

very nice indeed, however we should not require extra tools to search the code archives come on brl i think this feature is long over due

nrasool(Posted 2010) [#8]
Very nice .net application, although a feature from me would be to close the tabs of the webgadget, so I can just have the results.

_PJ_(Posted 2010) [#9]
Excellent!

Thanks for this, semar! Very useful indeed.

Sergio.

there is a codearchiv with a little search engine. It includes many codes from the german + english community. i think to implement all (free) france + (old) Blitzcoder code snipets into the next time.

Great stuff.

Further respect due to "semar" for posting this only in 'Blitz3D Programming'. We'll just keep this for ourselves - us Blitz3D users need to keep the flag flying.

ShadowTurtle(Posted 2010) [#13]
thanks too. I see now this is good for local storage. ^^

Warner(Posted 2010) [#14]
That is a nice tool. I was used to searching the archive by adding "site:http://www.blitzmax.com/codearcs/codearcs.php" after my Google search term. But that extra search options are pretty convenient.
And erm .. Puki! Are you back? I missed you. Good to see you again! :)

Very nice. Thanks!

Thanks all for the nice comments so far :)

I do Google searches on "Blitz3d [topic]" and then look at the urls to see what part of the website it's in (codearcs, etc.). This tool should be much simpler. Thanks.

I am 7 month to late. man this is somthing i was looking for a long time. Ver good.

Axel Wheeler(Posted 2010) [#21]
Wonderful tool. I already found a better rounded rectangle function than the one I wrote... Aarg! (Although mine supports gradients).

The Load Code Archive button causes an unhandled exception (details below). Tried with windows firewall off, same result. Is it my version of .net? I have v2 sp2, v3 sp2, and v3.5 sp1.

semar(Posted 2010) [#22]
@Axel,
which O.S. do you have ? Perhaps has something to do with file permission ?

I have tested it on XP and works flawlessy.

Sergio.

Axel Wheeler(Posted 2010) [#23]
XP sp3

I'll try it on a different machine tomorrow and let you know.

Sorry to resurrect (although a tool like this should be stickied!), but I have the same problem as Axel.

XP SP3, .NET Framework 4. I get the same exception message.
